Silk Habotai (fabric) – Sewing Word of the DAy

Silk Habotai (fabric) –

A smooth, fine silk fabric originally from Japan. It is also known as “china silk”.

Silk habotai has soft and supple hand with a lustrous sheen. It is economical (for silk) and has a smooth surface.

Comes in many widths and weights. It is often used for linings. A polyester version is also available.
